Each year, DoSomething.org honors the top celebrities who are using their platforms for good, and once again, Miley was one of the top honorees!
ICYMI this year, here are just a few of the many times our Founder made a difference this year:
- Calling on local policy makers to increase funding for LGBTQ homeless youth
- Rallying young people to speak out with her against discriminatory laws
- Encouraging students to continue showing their support for LGBT loved ones
- Releasing Happy Hippie Presents: Backyard Sessions to to raise funds for LGBTQ youth
- Creative directing and photographing Happy Hippie Presents: InstaPride to celebrate gender diversity
- Using her artwork to raise $69,000 for amfAR's HIV/AIDS research (plus giving an inspiring acceptance speech)
- Helping the LA LGBT Center raise $50,000 to support their work in the community (plus giving an inspiring acceptance speech)
- Using moments like the 2015 VMAs to focus attention on activism, compassion and acceptance
- Helping the MAC AIDS Fund reach the amazing milestone of $400 million raised for people living with HIV/AIDS
- Officially launching Happy Hippie, to keep all this work and more going in 2016 and beyond!!!
