Happy Hippie x Home of Hope

As part of Happy Hippie's commitment to supporting vulnerable youth, we're partnering with Raising Malawi to provide children at Home of Hope with basic needs supplies including food and clothing. Currently the region is experiencing food shortages due to local famine, but Happy Hippie's support will provide food for nearly 700 orphans for the next few months, until the harvest season.

Thanks to your donations, we are able to help improve the health and well-being of some of the most vulnerable youth around the world! Check out this special message from Home of Hope, and learn more about Raising Malawi and Home of Hope below.

Raising Malawi was founded by Madonna in 2006 to assist the orphans and vulnerable children in Malawi through health and education programs, and has supported Home of Hope since 2007. Home of Hope was founded by Agogo Chipeta in 1992. When Agogo was 14, his parents passed away and he moved in with his older sister. Although she was very young herself (16), she did everything she could to make sure he was loved and that he could complete school. Inspired by his experience, Agogo founded Home of Hope with a $6 donation and just 18 kids. Today, Home of Hope serves more than 700 orphans and vulnerable children. It consists of the orphanage, a school that serves children from pre-school through secondary school, a farm, and an on-site medical clinic with a nurse, and a vocational school. Providing comprehensive services on-site allows Home of Hope to enhance the children’s nutrition, schooling, health (e.g., low Malaria rates, consistent access to antiretrovirals), and well-being.
