Impact Report: Seeds of Peace

Happy Hippies was founded with the mission of empowering young people to change the world. That’s why we’re supporting programs with Seeds of Peace to equip the next generation to become leaders, peacemakers and community activists. These leadership development programs specifically focus on underrepresented or minority youth across various identities like race / ethnicity, gender, sexuality, nationality, and religious beliefs.

Here are some key highlights of our work together this past year:

  • We launched a new camp program for 100 American youth leaders representing diverse backgrounds and training them to mediate conflict and to address current challenges such as LGBTQ rights and immigrant rights in their communities. Since camp, the youth leaders have self-organized meetings in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago to develop social action plans in response to policy changes that target immigrants, faith communities, LGBTQ individuals and other minority communities.
  • We expanded programming in the Middle East, helping to bring together youth from conflict zones and train them to become community leaders. Happy Hippie funding provided Mediation and Negotiation Training for 43 Seeds in Jerusalem and a leadership program in Cyprus for 30 participants from Israel, Palestine, Egypt, India and Pakistan.

We're excited to continue our work with Seeds of Peace and to see the ongoing impact in the lives and communities around the world! Follow @HappyHippieFdn on Instagram this week to check out some impact stories and stay tuned for more updates in the coming months!
