Many of you know Happy Hippie is committed to helping our world be a more peaceful and safe place to live, and that includes protecting the environment. We're so grateful for our local beaches and oceans, which you may have seen featured in Miley's new song "Malibu", and that's why we're teaming up with Surfrider Foundation to help support their work protecting our local environment. You may have noticed balloons in Miley's video, and we wanted to let you know about some key info we learned from our friends at Surfrider, helping us get more educated on how we can make a difference:
Every year, an estimated 5-13 million tons of plastic enter our oceans. Recent studies predict that unless action is taken, by 2050, there will be more plastic by weight than fish in our oceans. The good news is we can reduce our plastic footprint by bringing reusable bags, carrying reusable water bottles, skipping the straw, reducing balloon use, and reusing plastic.
